Hong Kong & Macau

We left China Mainland and headed over to Hong Kong for an extra 3 days of fun.

Victoria harbour with Hong Kong island in the back ground.

Once again we were taken by the large buildings and hustle and bustle of Hong Kong.

Took a sampan trip around Aberdeen harbour area.

The Jumbo water restaurant in HK - it's been in many a Hollywood movie.

View of HK from Victoria Peak

The old and the New.

When in Rome... in HK you get a custom made suit at Sam the Tailor.
Juice picking out her fabrics.

Another highlight is going to the smallest and cheapest Michelin Starred restaurant in the world.

Welcome to 'Tim Ho Wan' in Mongkok. Food was great and it only cost $4.50 each.

We decided to take the 1hr long ferry over to Macau - The Vegas of the east.

In  fact Macau has more casinos than Vegas.

We weren't there for the gambling we wanted to see the historic Macau.

Macau is the sight of the first landing of westerners to China - around 1590's by the Portuguese. The city has been restored of the old buildings

The last remaining part of the original St Paul's cathedral

The Macau museum was one the better museums we've gone to - so if you're ever in Macau take some time out and have wonder through.

Behind the casino verneer is a crowded slum city

Meat, pork and fish on a stick then deep fried.
