2.3 km Cronulla Shark Island Swim

Once again Kimble and Juice were in the water for another Ocean swim.
This weekend was the 2.3km Cronulla Shark Island Swim

The conditions were fair,
Outside: 25 Degrees
Water: 20 degrees
Swell: was tough around the island due to tide movement.
Un-wanted: Hammerhead Shark.

Life guards getting ready to patrol the route...I wonder if they knew what was going to happen?
Swimmers getting ready at the start.

Well done to Juice for winning the day.
Juice 00:42:56
Kimble 00:44:44
I wonder how much faster these later swimmers would have been had they known about the Hammerhead shark that was in the water with us?
Clearly the Shark Island swim lived up to it's name.

Looking forward to next years Cronulla Shark Island Swim.

ASX and Croc Dundee

A blue-bottle, Pat Cash and Carl Williams

Kimble went as an 'Essendon' AFL player.

World's Greatest Shave - Kimble goes back to bald!

Kimble took part in "World's Greatest Shave" to raise money for Leukaemia.

Not only was I raising money for Leukaemia but this also marks my 10th year of remission.
>

Jo, my manager had paid extra money to be the one to shave my head.
>

I started to worry... "I hope they don't leave my hair like this!"

Then panic..."What happens if my hair doesn't grow back!"
.
.
All done Kimble has gone back to bald for a good cause.
Thank you to all those out there who made a donation to this cause.

10 years behind me and looking forward to the next 10.

Martin becomes an Aussie

On the 26th of March 2009, Martin became an Aussie.

There were around 80 people receiving their citizenship on the day. At least 60 different countries were represented.

The moment of truth... Martin becomes an Aussie, look at that smile.

Juice’s OZ anniversary

It's been a year since Juice arrived in Sydney. So much has happened over the last 12 months.

One of her first memories was going down to Manly seeing families participating in an ocean swim race.

So on Juice's anniversary she decided that we enter our 4th installment of ocean swimming.
Followed by a day at Manly

We entered the Cole Classic 2km. (turned out to be 1.9km)

The start of the earlier 1km event.

Conditions were good.
Temp: 21 deg.
Swell: 4 foot.

I put in a great performance hoping to tie up the
Kimble-juice household Comp.
>

Kimble: 34:01 (2min faster than I had hoped)
.
Juice to pulled out her best best swim of the season.
Kimble got comprehensively beaten!
.
Juice's time was 31:07
>

Final score 3-1, So it's official Juice is the best swimmer in our household no questions asked.
Well done!
